Directors’ Note: Blind Faith takes us into the unseen world of rural Greece, where tradition and religion shape every aspect of life. Father Theopnefstos, faced with a tragic suicide and the responsibility to protect a young girl named Zoe, gradually shifts from duty to a deep, human need to act. The film explores the fragile boundary between divine and human justice. Inspired by Byzantine iconography both visually and thematically, it juxtaposes darkness and light, the sacred and the profane, the parish church and the cave, the accepted and the authentic. Filmed with long takes and naturalistic performances, the camera becomes an unseen observer, evoking a sense of being watched by a higher presence. The soundtrack blends Byzantine tones with folk laments and ritual music, deepening the emotional resonance. This is not a film about religion. It is a film about faith and what remains when faith begins to fracture.
